Minneapolis, MN (June 27th, 2016) – Bobaflex frontman Shaun McCoy, in an unhinged and music industry heavy discussion, announces his support to have KISS remake Phantom of the Park, the evils of booking agents and 360 record deals, Spotify’s penny paychecks and moving towards a model of EPs vs LPs. Prior to taking the stage supporting their latest album Anything That Moves, McCoy shares in depth stories with Bakko from topics including:
Disturbed covering their cover of “Sound Of Silence”
Doing cocaine onscreen throughout the entire “Mama (Don’t Take My Drugs Away)” video shoot
Tales from the Gigantour
Challenges of touring, labels, realistic sales expectations
Jalapeno Mustard, Bananas
John Stamos
Acapella KORN
The band using Planet Fitness to shower on tour
Forcing his bandmates to watch the Dolly Parton / Stallone Movie Rhinestone
Love for bad 80’s KISS
Ungrateful Star Wars & Marvel fans
About:
Shaun McCoy is a co-lead singer of the band Bobaflex. The two frontmen, brothers Shaun and Marty McCoy, trade guitar and lead vocals, depending on the song.
Its first label went bankrupt shortly after signing them and Bobaflex spent the next few years engaged in legal battles and turmoil.
The band’s 2011 album Hell in my Heart features a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Sound of Silence.
Charlatan’s Web was released in 2013 and the band toured and released videos for, “Bad Man”, “Never Coming Back”, “I’m Glad You’re Dead”, and “Losing My Mind”, the latter of which was the band’s first animated music video.
In 2015, the band released Anything That Moves featuring the singles “Mama (Don’t Take My Drugs Away)” and “Dry Your Eyes.”
