On May 13th 2017 Bakko was covering the Northern Invasion Festival in Somerset Wisconsin. On this night the headliner was Soundgarden.
Working from the photo pit, Bakko captured these images which would be among the last live shots taken of Chris Cornell as sadly he took his own life a few days later on May 17th. None of these pics have ever been published and only a handful have been shared on social media making this the first time these have been widely available.
With Chris and Soundgarden playing such a large role in Grunge and therefore a recurring spot in the “Whatever, Nevermind” Top 25 Grunge Albums sidecast, it seemed like the right time to share these with the world.
